MTS expands share to 100% in six local fixed-line operators

Mobile TeleSystems PJSC, Russia’s largest mobile operator and a leading provider of media and digital services, announces the exercise of a call option with Zelenaya Tochka Group, a provider of broadband and digital TV services, to buy out the remaining 49% of Zelenaya Tochka’s share capital in six local fixed-line network operators.

In February 2020, MTS acquired a 51% stake in Zelenaya Tochka Group — comprised of 13 local fixed-line internet providers — via an agreement that included a provision for a three-year call option on the remaining share capital.

“By consolidating Zelenaya Tochka’s key assets in Stavropol, Mikhaylovsk, Nevinnomyssk, Elista, and Tambov, we are speeding up the development of bundled convergent offers that combine fixed-line and mobile connectivity in a single subscription, as well as advanced digital solutions for home and office,” commented Inessa Galaktionova, MTS First Vice President for Telecommunications. “Altogether, this deal will provide opportunities to more than one million Russian households to expand access to advanced solutions from across the MTS digital ecosystem.”
