The Corporation acquired timber-processing assets from the Bank of Moscow, including the country's leading manufacturer of sack paper and paper sacks - Segezha Pulp and Paper Mill OJSC - and LLC Derevoobrabotka-Proekt. The deal has become the basis for building a vertically integrated timber industry holding Segezha Group.
Steppe AgroHolding was established
Steppe AgroHolding was established on the basis of Sistema's agricultural assets. The company acquired Russia's and Europe's biggest greenhouse operator in Republic of Karachay-Cherkessia.
Investment in fashion retail
Sistema acquired 40 % of Concept Group, one of Russia's leading fashion clothing retailers by revenue growth, for a total consideration of approximately RUB 1 bn. The deal envisaged the option of increasing the Corporation's equity in the holding to a controlling stake.
Investment in e-commerce
Sistema and MTS acquired 10.8% each in the leading Russian online hypermarket OZON for $150 mn in total. The deal enabled the Corporation to enter the fast growing e-commerce market.
Sistema participated in additional share issue of MTS Bank
Sistema signed a binding agreement with its subsidiary MTS Bank to acquire 2,474,818 ordinary shares of the Bank's additional share issue for a total of RUB 9,460,684,754.
Sistema Increased its stake in NVision Group
The Corporation increased its ownership in NVision Group to 88.75%. The total value of the deal amounted to $ 82.5 mn, $37.5 mn of which paid in cash, and $45 mn in Sistema shares.
Record dividends
In July 2014, Sistema paid its shareholders the biggest dividends ever, totalling RUB 19.9 bn, corresponding to dividend yield of about 5% as of the date of payment.
Sistema transferred Bashneft to the Russian Federation
In December 2014, Sistema transferred Bashneft to the Russian Federation as a result of civil proceedings about unlawful privatisation of Bashneft. The Corporation had not participated in the privatization and filed a claim for the recovery of damages from sellers, as a result of the seizure of the Bashneft shares.
